PROJECT MANAGER & LEAD DESIGNER
Samsung Transportation Museum opened in 1988. The museum has exhibited more than 200 fascinating classic cars for the public. However, the exhibit environment has deteriorated over time, so they decided to renovate it. The museum wanted to expand its content from conventional transportation to "Future Mobility." So, the project on this page shows the newly designed Immersive UAM(Urban Air Mobily) Simulators.

In the future, personalized air mobility will become familiar due to the heavy congestion of land transportation. UAM is an upcoming form of air traffic that can vertically take off and land even in complicated cities and can be shared among citizens. The aim of this exhibit is to show the lifestyle that the UAM will change in the near future in advance. I wrote a hypothetical scenario of travel taking UAM for children who are the potential audiences of the museum and designed an immersive attraction with an 8K video. Two 4K projectors project the video on the curved screen(14.4m * 5m). Edge Blending software blends the video beamed through two separate projectors seamlessly. Also, I introduced two Six-Axis Motion Simulators, which are adequate to let audiences feel the rising and falling of UAM in the video, and the 5.1.4 audio system that provides a stereophonic sound atmosphere to audiences.
For producing the video, I adopted diverse shooting techniques and 3D graphic methods. First, the 8K drone camera is used to take the bird-eye sketch of Seoul. Also, I cast actors, filmed them in front of a chromakey screen, and composited them in post-production. UAM and UI graphics were composited on the sketch after being separately designed and rendered following the storyboard.
